► K-ETA (MANDATORY)
KETA, Korea Electronic Travel Authorization, is an immigration system for travelers who will enter South Korea without a visa. Visitors should apply for K-ETA to enter Korea, and it would cost 10,000 KRW (7 USD). Visitors must complete the application at least 72 hours before departure as it can take up to 72 hours at the longest to get the authorization. Please visit https://www.k-eta.go.kr/portal/apply/index.do to apply for K-ETA.
***However, 22 countries are exempted from applying for a KETA to enter Korea.

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Macao, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, UK, US (including Guam)

► Electricity Supply
The standard voltage in Korea is 220 volts. The outlet has two round holes and is the same type used in France, Germany, Austria, Greece, Turkey and many other countries. If you want to buy one in Korea, you can do so at a duty-free store or convenience store at the International Airport.
► Foreign exchange and banking
The monetary unit is the Won (KRW). Korean monetary units are 10, 50, 100, and 500 coins, and 1,000, 5,000, 10,000 and 50,000 notes.

► Tipping
Tipping is not a traditional Korean custom. A 10% service charge is added to your bill at all tourist hotels so tipping is not expected. It is not necessary
► Mobile Phone(roaming)
CDMA cellular systems are widely used in Korea. SK Telecom and KT are providing a SIM card roaming service to allow you to use your GSM subscription in Korea. At the International Airport, you can rent a special CDMA cellular phone that accepts your SIM card. Please check the links below for more details.

► VAT
A Value-Added Tax (VAT) is levied on most goods and services at a standard.
